We come to you for a day. Two weeks later you have five films and every email, letter, text, and post your campaign needs. It's all written, all dated, and ready to send.

Everything in your hands, guaranteed

Most year-end campaigns fall apart in November.

Not because the team stopped caring. Because there's no time left. Here's how it usually goes:

  • The appeal letter is mostly last year's letter.
  • Somebody says you should do a video. Nobody has eight hours to make one.
  • The emails get written the night before they go out, or they don't go out at all.
  • The best stories from your year never leave the building.

You're not behind. You're just out of hours. That's the whole problem, and it's fixable.

An empty neighborhood gym before a session

One day of filming. A full campaign out of it.

We spend a day with you. We film three people whose lives your work changed, plus your leader making the ask. Then we write your entire campaign from those same interviews.

You don't write anything

Every email, the letter, the texts, the posts. We write all of it, and we date all of it.

You don't hunt for stories

We interview each person first, then film them telling it in their own words.

You don't run out of time

Everything is in your hands by November 3. We load it into your systems together.

How it works

Three steps. Only one of them takes a day.

A student telling his story at a table

Step one

We pick the stories

One call in September. You tell us about your year. We pick the theme and the three people who carry it.

A student standing in the gym during his interview

Step two

We film it in a day

One day at your place. We interview everyone ahead of time, so the day itself is calm. Your staff keeps working. You get the trailer back within a few days, so you have something real in hand while the rest is still being cut.

A student in profile during her interview

Step three

We load it together

Early November, we sit with your team and schedule the whole campaign. Then you hit send on the dates.

We've done this three years in a row.

I built this campaign for Philly FCA while I ran marketing for FCA in the Mid-Atlantic. I rebuilt it each fall, and they've asked for it again every September since.

A Philly FCA donor story

The 2025 Philly appeal film

“Your gift turns into 14 huddles across the city.”

That line came out of the interviews, not a brainstorm.

Everyone we film hears the same thing before we roll: this has to be your complete story, not something I made up. That's why it sounds like them, because it is them.

Questions people ask

Why not just hire a freelancer?

You can, and for a single video that may be the right call. The difference is what happens after the film is done: you'd still be writing the nine emails, the letter, the texts, and the posts yourself. Here it's the films and the whole campaign, from one person, for one price.

Could our team do this in-house?

If you have someone who can film, edit, write nine emails, design a mailer, and build a calendar in October, then yes. Most teams have one of those people, not all five. That's usually the honest answer.

What do you need from us?

One planning call, access to three people willing to tell their story on camera, your photo archive so the films aren't just talking heads, and one person who can send the emails. That's it.

What if we don't like the films?

You approve every film before anything goes out. If one doesn't ring true to your people, we recut it until it does, at no cost.

Do you send the emails and mail for us?

No, and we say so up front. The emails and texts go out from your accounts. We hand your printer finished files, and printing and postage are yours (usually 42 to 78 cents a piece). We build everything and schedule it with you. You press send.

How much will this raise?

We won't give you a number, and you should be careful with anyone who does. What a campaign raises depends most on who works it. We're responsible for the campaign being excellent, on time, and loaded. You're responsible for working it.

What do we actually have to do?

Five things, and we date all of them with you in November. Send the story emails on the dates. Personally send a film and a short note to your top donors in early December, and we write those notes for you. Show up on Giving Tuesday to reply to people. Screen the film in whatever room you're already gathering in that month. Then work the last three days of the year, including a text on the evening of December 31. That's the list. Everything else is ours.

We need board approval. Is there time?

Maybe, and it depends on when your board meets. Tell us on the call and we'll be straight with you about whether the calendar works. If it doesn't, we'll say so rather than take your money.

Can the films be used after December?

Yes. They're built for the year-end appeal, and the same films work at a banquet or an event later in the year. The forty stills come with a guide for using them all year.

One campaign. One number.

The done-before-December guarantee

Everything in your hands by November 3, loaded and scheduled before Thanksgiving. If we miss either one, we write you a check for $2,500. One condition: you show up to the loading session.

The “that's your story” guarantee

You approve every film before anything launches. If a film doesn't ring true to your people, we recut it until it does, at no cost.

Is this right for you?

We'd rather tell you now than twenty minutes into a call.

A student standing in the gym during his interview

Yes, if

  • Somebody on your team owns your donor emails, by name.
  • You've emailed your donors this year, on any platform.
  • You know who your donors are and can pull the list.
  • You can get us in front of three real people, and share your photo archive.

Not this year, if

  • Nobody on staff can send the emails. The campaign would sit in a folder, and we won't take your money for that.
  • Your donor list doesn't exist yet.
  • December would be the first your donors hear from you all year. Start warmer first, and we'll show you how, free.

We can take five clients this fall.

Shoot days book from mid-September to mid-October. We hold two weeks after the last one to finish everything by November 3.

If direct mail is part of your plan and you've never mailed before, we need you signed by September 30. Postal permits take longer than anyone expects.

Twenty minutes. We'll tell you honestly whether this is your year.
