The problem
Three things at once, and one morning to catch it.
Every year on commissioning week, Navy FCA gathers for a breakfast. It is three things at once: a celebration of the seniors about to be commissioned into the fleet, a fundraiser for the ministry, and a moment for the people who love this thing to remember why.
Brian Fish, who runs Navy FCA, has brought me in more than once to make sure that morning gets captured before everyone scatters to their assignments.
The approach
This is a celebration recap, and the heart of it is the people. Alongside the moments of the morning, I sat down with a few of them, Brian included, and asked the real question: why does this breakfast matter to you, as a parent, as a donor, as someone who keeps giving to this year after year. Their answers are what turn a nice morning into a reason to support it again.

The result
A clean, warm recap of a morning that celebrates a graduating class and gives the ministry's supporters a reason to stay in. As Brian Fish put it, the academy has very few windows for outsiders to see the work, and this breakfast is the window in.
