Camp recap · MACC 2026
“What are you trying to prove?”

The problem
MACC is the Mid-Atlantic College Camp, four days over Memorial Day weekend. It isn't really a sports camp. It's a spiritual retreat wrapped in games nobody has an unfair advantage at, tiger ball, gaga ball, ultimate everything, so the point stays what it is: college athletes chasing Jesus, in one place, growing by watching each other do it.
The recap's job is simple, tell the story of the weekend as it actually happened. In 2026 that got hard, because it rained the entire weekend and almost nothing could happen outside.

The approach
There is very little narration in this one on purpose. You do not talk over a weekend like this, you show it. I built the film around the two things that make MACC what it is. Every morning opened with TACOS, three straight hours of a room full of college students learning to pray out loud together. And it ends where MACC always ends, in the water. This year the baptisms happened in the pool instead of the Bay, but the moment is the same, and it is the reason these films have closed on baptism for five years running.

The result
This is one of the pieces that set the tone for what a camp recap looks like across FCA Mid-Atlantic. Other regions saw them and wanted the same.
It captured a weekend the weather tried to ruin and still sent people home having watched each other get baptized.Braden · on the 2026 cut
What we delivered
The four-day camp recap film. I will be straight about the 2026 cut: it was clean and it did its job, not a showstopper.
Every film needs somewhere to land. The Storytelling System is the part that makes sure it does.
